Electric Cost Lab provides general educational information and estimates. Results are not utility quotes, engineering calculations, electrical-safety advice, equipment-sizing recommendations, or guarantees of savings.
Your inputs determine the result
Calculator outputs depend on wattage, runtime, price, efficiency, and other values entered or selected. Actual equipment can cycle, vary power, age, malfunction, or operate under conditions that differ from the assumptions.
My Energy accounts
You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in account secure and for activity performed through it. My Energy is provided for personal household energy records and may change as the service develops.
Your records and files
You retain responsibility for information and files you upload. You grant Electric Cost Lab the limited permission needed to store, process, analyze, and return that material to provide My Energy trends, forecasts, comparisons, goals, and saved actions. You may not upload malicious files, unlawful material, another person's private records without authorization, or content that infringes third-party rights. Current account limits are 1,200 bills, 250 uploaded files, 250 saved actions, 10 MB per file, and 500 MB of file storage.
Availability and data protection
We work to keep saved records available, but uninterrupted service, permanent storage, and recovery cannot be guaranteed. Keep copies of important utility bills and documents in your own records.
Primary records take priority
Your utility rate schedule, bill, meter data, equipment documentation, qualified contractor, and applicable codes take priority over information on this site.
Acceptable use
You may use the calculators and quote short portions of editorial material with attribution. You may not interfere with the service, probe another account, bypass access controls, distribute malware, misrepresent results as guaranteed, or republish substantial site content as your own.
Third-party services
The site may rely on sign-in and hosting services and may link to government sources, manufacturers, utilities, or advertisers. We are not responsible for third-party availability, policies, or claims.
Changes
We may update calculators, assumptions, account features, storage limits, content, and these terms as the site develops. The effective date identifies the current version.
